PRIVACY STATEMENT AND PRIVACY POLICY

This Policy advises you how we collect, store and use the personal information you share with us.

WHO WE ARE

ForRefugees is a Registered Charity in England and Wales number 1168435. We provide grants and basic umbrella charity services to Local Partners who are themselves helping Refugees on-the-ground across Europe.

Our website address is: https://www.forrefugees.org.

THE PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT

With your permission, we collect and store the following personal information - title, first name, family name, email address, and the town and country where you live.

For those in the UK giving permission for us to claim Gift Aid on your donation, then we also collect your house name or number, and your postcode.

In the case of a company, we also collect your company name.

In the case of the volunteers we work with at our Local Partners, we collect a mobile/WhatsApp number and email, where these have been provided to us.

HOW WE COLLECT YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

Donor information is collected from the reports we run using our third-party donation sites including, but not limited to, CAFDonate, Facebook Fundraising, Just Giving, Global Giving and PayPal. On occasion we fundraise in partnership with another associated charity group and share the reports and your agreement to further contact.

Anyone may also sign up for our Mailing List on our website or via Social Media.

HOW WE STORE PERSONAL INFORMATION

Personal information is stored by forRefugees on an Excel Spreadsheet using secure Microsoft OneDrive cloud storage. Those who have given permission for us to contact them by email will also be added to our Mail Chimp database; that is, their first name, family name and email address. Volunteer information is stored securely on AirTable.

REPORTING DATA BREACHES

In the event of a data breach, including a cyber attack or accidental leak, we commit to reporting this to the relevant authorit(ies) within 72 hours.

HOW WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We share the minimum information required with HMRC for the purposes of claiming Gift Aid where the donor has provided their information to us for this purpose. That is - title, first name, family name, house name or number and post code.

We use your personal information to email you and keep you up-to-date with how your charitable support is making a difference to refugee lives, and to inform you of any events coming up that might be interesting to you. You can update your details, or unsubscribe, at any time.

We do not share your personal information with any other third party.

If you have donated to one of our Local Partners on one of our platforms we consider you to have opted in to their mailing list and not ours. We share your name and email data with the Local Partner for that reason only.
