Grant Application

Please note that only NGOs already accepted in the forRefugees Network can apply for a Grant.

Grant Application Terms & Conditions

  • Only those NGOs with an annual turnover <£150,000 / €170,00, can apply (limit introduced January 2023 and regularly reviewed).

  • The Trustees accept and review Grant Applications on an ongoing basis; there are no closing dates.

  • Preference is given to Applications for emergency and one-off needs for:

    • Urgent Relief: we help ensure food, shelter, medical supplies, and much more, reach those who most urgently need it, when they need it.

    • Daily Survival: we support daily needs so often taken for granted, such as warm showers, a change of clothes, regular meals, and other essentials that make daily life for refugees in camps, or other insecure housing, more bearable.

    • Rebuilding Lives: we cover the cost of rent for safe houses for women and girls, language classes and children’s education, and support legal and psychosocial teams who help displaced people apply for status or heal from trauma.

  • The Trustees do not, as a rule, support:

    • Pay, stipends, housing or other costs connected to International team members.

    • Regular costs, for more than three months (and only then if the NGO is struggling to make payments).

    • Sponsorship of individuals or single families.

  • Typical size of grant is in the region of £1,000 to £3,000, up to a maximum of £15,000, by exception.

  • Grant Applications, once approved by the Trustees, are paid in the order approved. The Trustees aim to make payments within one month and no longer than four months.

  • NGOs in the Network can submit further grant applications at any time.
