Fund Requests Guidance
- Only NGOs already accepted in the forRefugees Network, and who have signed the Umbrella Memorandum of Understanding (MoU, can request Funds here.
-
To check your eligibility and apply to join forRefugees go to www.forrefugees.org/application.
-
To request registering for this simple UK umbrella charity service, email [email protected].
-
-
The funds awarded are from your own NGO’s fundraising using the forRefugees platforms. You can only request funds that have cleared payment in the forRefugees bank account.
-
Most payment platforms have a delay between a donation being made and paying the money to the charity, e.g. for JustGiving this is two weeks, and four weeks for Gift Aid.
-
The platforms each have (nominal) fees which they automatically deduct. Your payments will be after platform or transaction fees. These are outside forRefugees’ control.
-
When your NGO is actively using this umbrella service you will receive a monthly update of transactions and balance at the start of each calendar month.
-
NGOs can submit Funds Requests for all or some of their balance and at any time.
-
On receiving a Funds Request the Trustees aim to make payments same-day and in no more than three working days (noting our bank is closed for transactions on weekends and bank holidays).
-
Try to avoid urgent requests as each payment needs two Trustees to approve and the Trustees cannot guarantee availability at short notice.
-
NGOs may also leave all or some of their funds with forRefugees for as long as they want to.
-
ForRefugees does not charge for any of its services.
